The BGV-140 and BGV-180 are roll-on roll-off cargo vessels with performances eminently capable of ensuring the continuity of goods transportation along the maritime highways, even where the most stringent delivery times are a requirement.

The optimised loading facilities, both fore and aft access, mean that relatively simple, cheap port infrastructures are needed to accommodate these large BGV vessels.

The foiler trimaran concept ensures high schedule respect: sea conditions are less constraining, allowing regular fast crossings that provide stiff competition for air freight, with timings that are comparable. Other plusses are the far reduced costs and the possibility of providing the Ro-Ro transportation, a facility that is indispensable for the distribution business and its insistence on ‘tight-flow’ - the universal criterion of today’s world of commerce.

These two new units slot quite naturally into a complete range of goods-carrying craft – a range that goes from light cruisers right up to 236-metre maxi jet freighters.
